Description

A hearty and convenient casserole that combines the classic flavors of a juicy burger with pasta and cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 cups frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 3 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 1 ½ cups cooked pasta (elbow macaroni or any preferred shape)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add the frozen mixed vegetables and cooked pasta to the skillet. Mix everything well and allow it to heat through.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top. If you like, you can add breadcrumbs for an extra crunch.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
