Ingredients

- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1½ tablespoons baking powder
- 1¾ cups buttermilk (plus extra if needed)
- 2½ cups diced beef, cut into ½-inch cubes
- 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup salted butter, melted
- Non-stick cooking spray or extra butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet with non-stick spray or butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and baking powder.
- Create a well in the dry ingredients and pour in buttermilk. Mix until a shaggy dough forms, adding more buttermilk if needed. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the diced beef and shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each biscuit.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the tops of the biscuits.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm.

Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
