- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mix the melted butter with the mashed bananas until well combined.
- Stir in the baking soda and salt.
- Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until everything is blended smoothly.
- Add the flour and stir gently until just incorporated. Finally, fold in the chopped nuts and cinnamon if you are using it.
- Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Overmixing can lead to dense bread. Use very ripe bananas for best flavor.
