- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
- Add the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Stir in the white chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature ingredients and avoid overmixing the dough. Chill the dough for about 30 minutes if desired to help prevent spreading.
