Description
Deliciously soft, chewy chocolate chunk cookies, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
- Beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract until everything is smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chunks and nuts if you’re using them. Cover the dough and chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Scoop 3 tablespoon portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
- Bake for 11 to 13 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look just set. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
For best results, chill the dough before baking to enhance flavor and texture.
