Description

A delightful appetizer featuring creamy Brie cheese, sweet figs, and tart cranberries wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 round Brie cheese
  • 1 cup figs, chopped (fresh or dried)
  • 1/2 cup cranberries
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh thyme for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit a baking sheet.
  3. Place the Brie cheese in the center of the puff pastry.
  4. Spread the chopped figs and cranberries over the Brie cheese, then drizzle honey on top.
  5. Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the cheese and filling, sealing it well to prevent any leaks.
  6. Brush the top with the beaten egg to give it a golden color.
  7. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh thyme if desired.

Notes

Ensure the puff pastry is completely thawed before use to prevent baking issues. Avoid overfilling to prevent bursting. Consider adding nuts for extra flavor.
