Instructions
- Prepare the onion: Start by slicing the onion thinly.
- Cook the broth: In a pot, add the water and the sliced onion. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Add seasonings: Once boiling, reduce the heat to low. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and minced ginger. Let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Season to taste: After simmering, taste the broth. Add salt and pepper according to your taste preference.
- Optional ingredients: If you want to include mushrooms, tofu, or leafy vegetables, add them now and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until they are tender.
- Garnish: Remove from heat, pour into bowls, and top with chopped green onions for a fresh kick.
