- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup apricot preserves
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by greasing it with butter or cooking spray.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract, then gradually mix in the all-purpose flour until a soft dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the greased baking pan.
- Spread the apricot preserves evenly over the top of the pressed dough.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
- Cool in the pan before cutting into squares or rectangles for serving.
Notes
For best results, ensure that butter is at room temperature and do not overmix the dough.
