- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup caramelized apples, chopped
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth in another large bowl.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Blend in the dry mixture gradually.
- Fold in the caramelized apples and walnuts.
- Roll the dough into balls and then roll in cinnamon sugar.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
For best results, do not overmix the dough and use room temperature butter for better creaming.
