- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup apple butter
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Prepare the yeast mixture by combining warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast in a bowl. Let it foam for about 5 minutes.
- Mix the melted butter and the egg into the yeast mixture.
- Combine the all-purpose flour and salt gradually in the wet mixture.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for 1 hour.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle shape after it has risen.
- Spread the apple butter evenly over the rolled-out dough.
- Add the brown sugar and cinnamon over the apple butter layer.
- Form the rolls by rolling the dough tightly into a log shape.
- Cut the log into about 12 equal pieces.
- Second rise the pieces in a greased baking dish for 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!

These rolls are best enjoyed warm, but can be stored for later.
