Description

A comforting and hearty dish featuring juicy hamburger patties and rich, creamy gravy, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Onion (Finely diced)
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted)
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium preferred)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Onion (Sliced)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Form into 6 to 8 oval-shaped patties.
  2. Brown the patties in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
  3. Remove the patties and sauté sliced onions in the same skillet with butter until soft. Add flour and stir for 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream until gravy thickens.
  5. Return the browned patties to the skillet, ensuring they are coated in gravy.
  6. Cover and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Let the dish rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat gently.
