- 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
- 1 Egg (Beaten)
- 1 Onion (Finely diced)
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 3 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted)
- 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
- 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium preferred)
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1 Onion (Sliced)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Form into 6 to 8 oval-shaped patties.
- Brown the patties in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
- Remove the patties and sauté sliced onions in the same skillet with butter until soft. Add flour and stir for 2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream until gravy thickens.
- Return the browned patties to the skillet, ensuring they are coated in gravy.
- Cover and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let the dish rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat gently.
