Description

A comforting and hearty dish with seasoned ground beef patties in rich and creamy gravy, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Onion (Finely diced)
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted)
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium preferred)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Onion (Sliced)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and black pepper until combined. Form into 6–8 oval-shaped patties and let them rest.
  2. Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium heat and brown the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter and sliced onions. Sauté until translucent, then sprinkle flour over the onions and stir for 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and heavy cream to create a rich gravy, stirring continuously.
  5. Place the browned patties back into the gravy, ensuring they are submerged.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cover the skillet and bake for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Once done, let the skillet rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans for a complete meal. Can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to three months.
