Description
Flaky mini pumpkin-shaped pies with jack-o-lantern faces and sweet fillings – a fun and festive Halloween dessert.
Ingredients
2 refrigerated pie crusts
1 cup apple pie filling (or preferred filling)
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp granulated sugar (optional)
½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
Caramel sauce or powdered sugar for topping
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheet.
2. Roll pie crusts, cut pumpkin shapes with cookie cutter.
3. On half the pumpkins, cut jack-o-lantern faces.
4. Place uncut pumpkins on tray, add filling.
5. Top with cut-out pumpkins, seal edges with fork.
6. Brush with egg wash, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon.
7. Bake 18–22 minutes until golden.
8. Cool slightly, drizzle with caramel or dust with sugar.
Notes
Use any pie filling you like.
Assemble ahead and freeze unbaked pies.
Reheat leftovers in oven for best texture.
