Description

A simple and flavorful chicken dish cooked in a crockpot with a sweet and savory soy sauce blend.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs of chicken (thighs or breasts)
  • 1 cup of soy sauce
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 cup of chopped green onions
  • 2 cups of mixed vegetables (like bell peppers, broccoli, and carrots)
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing the chicken. If you are using thighs, you can leave them whole. For breasts, you may want to cube them for quicker cooking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir well until the brown sugar dissolves.
  3. Place the chicken into the crockpot and pour the sauce mixture over it.
  4. Add the mixed vegetables and give everything a good stir.
  5. Cover your crockpot and set it to low heat for 360 minutes or high heat for 240 minutes.
  6. Once cooked, serve over rice or noodles and sprinkle with chopped green onions.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days; can be frozen for up to 3 months.
